SCAM ALERT using call N5TSX
I answered a for sale ad of an IC-7700 transceiver using the call N5TSX. The individual seemed very legitimate using long lengthy responses to my questions and supplying several pictures. The email seemed unusual to me (n5tsx@outlook.com) We negotiated a fair price and I offer to send a cashier's check from my bank but he wanted a bank transfer using a dumb excuse about the mail not being safe for such a large amount of money in a check. (1st clue) When I went to the QRZ database there was no email listed. (2nd clue) I confronted the guy asking for a picture with a qsl card of N5TSX in the picture with the radio, I asked for a copy of the original sales receipt since he was supposed to be the original owner. It was supposed to be less than 1 year old with all the current upgrades performed. He said he would do this in his response. I have not heard anything back from him all day. Then I search google images and found the exact same pictures he sent me from an eham.com ad listed in 2013 by another N5 call. OMG I can't believe how I got suckered into this almost scam by the honest forthcoming emails about his family, grandkids, and other personal stuff that couldn't be verified but sounded so legit. BEWARE

UPDATE: This individual contacted me again providing 3 different photos of the IC-7700 one with a qsl card of the call he is using. I googled the pics again and sure enough there were the same pics he sent me with the exception of the one with the qsl card. The qsl card in the picture was about half the size of the rig. i mean about an 8 x 10 card. I think I will write to the real N5TSX and let him know his identity is being used in a Fraud.
