WD0BC- very disappointing

Post by W4FCC »

I bought a Palomar noise bridge from WD0BC from an ad here a few days ago. No mention was made of any issues with the bridge. When it showed up, the unit will power up, but it cannot be used properly because the lead from the rcvr jack to the toriod has been shortened and the capacitor scrubs the lead and cannot turn more than half its range.

I emailed WD0BC, treating him as an equal since he has been a ham for over 30 years, as have I, stating my disappointment with the bridge, and that he should have stated this issue when he offered it for sale.

I received an insulting, profane email in response that was totally uncalled for.

Enjoy my money, pal.

Did you state in your ad that it did not work properly?

Well, just because you are unaware that your dog bites does not exempt you from responsibility when it sinks it's teeth into the neighbor. Just send him his money back, period. W4FCC bought it from YOU, not the other guy.

It is refreshing to read an unambiguous reply from the subject of a feedback complaint.
The kind of reply that tells all readers "Never buy anything from this guy".

WAIT JUST A SECOND

I think his next response would be:

ITEM SOLD AS I RECEIVED IT ...NO KNOWN ISSUES

Just sayin!

Just another unethical creep. One day he will need help for something and find out what goes around comes around.

I don't get it

I'm still trying to figure out why in the world he responded to a two year old post without any real explanation. He would have been bettter off just letting it go after all this time.

I'm trying to find the ad in question. If the item was not sold "as is" or gave any indication it was non-working, then there is no excuse for the buyer to be treated this way, and would be cause to be blocked from further use of the QTH.com Classifieds.

I believe before he edited his ad three times he stated that the sale was on QRZ and not QTH.

After reading the ad, I'm trying to figure out if it was made by PLOLMAR, POLOMAR or POLIMAR!

No, he never made good on it, and I put it in a box and just said goodbye to my 32 bucks or whatever it was. I had forgotten about it really, and it's funny to me that we're talking about something from two years ago! Even though it's been a while, I'm fairly certain the ad I bought it from was here on QTH and not QRZ.

Hams are supposed to treat each other better than this, and this guy obviously has emotional or mental problems. I have better things to concern myself with.

How many QSOs or emails with other hams have ended with "F*** You very much!!"? Nice, real nice.

So dude, how has my money been the last couple of years? What goes around comes around, sooner or later-- and I'll bet it either has or will cost you more than 32 bucks to deal with it.

Enjoy.

Rick
