Randy Prewitt K4LJA - Dirt Bag Trader

Post by W1JCW »

This is one of those deals that started off nice then turned into Randy Prewitt K4LJA selling the item out from under me for a higher price !!

This is not ebay, if you negotiate a price and say I will take it funds will be mailed and they are packing the item for you...

IT'S SOLD TO YOU !!!

You do Not renege on the deal then sell it to someone who comes in behind you and says I will give you the full asking price or what ever back room deal you make after the fact !!

YOU DON'T TRADE LIKE THIS RANDY !!!

See the email thread below:

The dirt bag sends me an email today after he shipped the keyer:

I called Randy and left him a vm before he shipped the keyer indicating I expected him to hold to OUR AGREEMENT !!

Of course no call back as Randy K4LJA aka dirt bag who knows he was wrong and a scum bag for selling the keyer out from under me !! I get this email from him today trying to down play the situation and acts as if we did not have a FIRM agreement !!

As if he never committed as indicated below.
He ignores the two emails and phone call expressing my unhappiness
with his lack of ethics and dirt bagness in selling the keyer out from under me for a higher price after we had a FIRM agreement as stated in the emails below.

Did I mention we had a FIRM agreement ??

I finally get this email below from dirt bag today:

From: Randy Prewitt
Sent: Friday, August 20, 2010 11:36 AM
To: W1JCW
Subject: Begali has been shipped

It has already been shipped to Ohio.

Your earlier email said you would have to pass.

Sorry. 73 --

rp

Then I get this one above from him today.

Sent another follow up below this morning:

I am still awaiting a call that you will hold true to your word on this deal.

I left you a vm at your # as well.

I expect a call to confirm our deal as originally indicated.

Wow Randy I thought we had a deal regardless, I don’t like what you have done. We had a deal and that was it.

I don’t care if some ham offered full price, that’s why its first come first serve and not an auction or holding out for more.
That is not the right thing to do, if you wanted to sell it that way you should have put it on ebay.

My finances are not your concern and that is a poor excuse to sell to a higher offer.

I even offered if I was closer to help you move and this is how you treat a fellow ham ?

I am very shocked that you have treated me this way and disrespected the morals of proper dealings.

I am not happy at all with you Randy, I have never sold anything out from a fellow that I had a committed deal with.

I would expect you to honor our deal as ham and gentleman.

John

Upon the email below I immediately sent this email above !!!

After our deal was SEALED and CONFIRMED I get this email
below from Randy dirt bag the next morning:

Subject: Begali Paddle...

John --

Sorry -- a ham from Ohio offered full price for the Begali and I will
be shipping to him.

Thanks for your interest. I was also a bit
concerned that you would have to stretch
so much --- financially -- to pay for it. I
really didn't want to put you in that position.

Again -- thank you John.

Hey John --

That's wonderful. And yes -- gold contacts
and Palladium base. Very attractive, I think.

I'll pack it Friday and get it in the mail --- after
your check arrives and clears. I'm good on QRZ dot com:

Thanks John -- I'll have more for you when I
get back in town Friday. 73 --

I just spoke with my neighbor who owes me some money for mechanical work and he said he can have funds for me this week, so I will take it for $325 shipped !!

He just stopped by to tell me that and I thought well isn't that a
coincidence..

Pack it up and I can send you a check in a few days, you can hold it until
it clears if that's okay with you.

Does this model have the gold contacts and it looks to have that Palladium
base ?

I appreciate you Randy.

Thanks John -- I appreciate you. 73 and the
best to you.

Randy -

I feel bad enough making the offer I did as I know it's a nice key but I
really only had $250 and a friend will let me make payments back to him for the extra $50.

You know how it is, when something nice comes along you don't always
have the funds.

Sorry to bug you but I will have to pass.

If I was local I would help you move in return for some credit towards
the key but I am in Dallas.

Good luck on the move my friend and maybe I will catch you down the log.

John Walker -- W1JCW ...

I really like the photo you have on your QRZ dot com
web page. I have a hard time taking good pictures.

I just got back from errand running and Man -- it's still
hot out there. Of course -- you know that since you're
right next door in Texas. I'm in Monroe, Louisiana.

Like you -- I'm on a fixed Social Security income with
no other benefits. Years and years ago when I purchased
that Begali I paid $350 for it and I paid shipping. I'll be
moving in a month or so and need to trim down some
excess items and come up with some moving money.

I'm thinking we might be able to compromise. I know that
I will. Do you think you can come up with $325 with FREE
shipping? I feel that might be fair to both of us. I will be gone
tomorrow and will not be able to ship Priority First Class until
Friday -- and you would likely get it Monday -- or the latest --
Tuesday.

Whatcha think John --- can we both bend a little? Thanks much --

Randy K4LJA

The response is:

I can offer $300 shipped as I am on fixed income.

If that is acceptable let me know. I know you will have this up for sale
for a while.

Thanks

John let it go.no sense in getting all torn up about it. things happen. at lest you didnt send a check and receive the news after you mailed it. now you dont have to worry about getting your money back.i learned a long time ago that things happen for a reason and usually its for the best. i had the hots 1 time for a used conversion van and the dealer sold it out from under me while i was gone to the bank to get the money out of my safe deposit box. and i was pissed when i got back to the car lot and it was gone. the guy who bought it ended up with a blown engine 2 days after he bought it. glad i didnt get it later. you will find another key or something better. good luck bro !

This has happened to me a few times on here. Most deals go great, yet a small few go south. Something to be said about a mans word. To me its VERY important. Them Emails look to be all in one day,or so.The line of communication was far from lacking. To think you have bought a piece of nice equipment. BTW a Begali key is something to get a bit salty about, a very nice piece of art. So to get stiffed, "as far as being told you have it and then get told you don't" is totally unacceptable in my book, So W1JCW John, thanks for posting, to let HAM'S here know who are the honorable, and not so honorable sellers 73 KD0HSF

Yes move onto the next thread and hopefully you don't come across someone like Randy Prewitt K4LJA - Dirt Bag Trader who has no morals and sells a nice item out from under you.

Yes it does get old when hams are dirty dealers and sell items out from under you for a higher price when you had a firm deal in writing too !

It also gets old when hams and Randy Prewitt K4LJA - Dirt Bag Trader play
ebay on qth.com

I smell two standards here:

The people who bellyache about somebody selling something out from under them would be the first to jump ship for a $1.00 an hour more on their job.

Exactly, what does one have to do with the other?

There is no bellyaching here. It's a matter of informing others and what to expect when dealing with Randy Prewitt K4LJA - Dirt Bag Trader.

John,
n6dxn and I agreed on a price for his rig. I immediately sent him a pmo. He claimed her never received the pmo. I offered to "express mail" him a replacement. He said, "no it's no big deal, lets wait until Tuesday". Tuesday rolls around and I phoned Richard only to be told, "your pmo never arrived, I sold it to the second on the list". I found out later he sold it locally to a friend for more $$$. He tossed my pmo in the trash. THATS A DIRT BAG.,

No there was only one thread but it was locked by mistake per the mod feed back.

If you don't like this thread or any others I've create then don't read them and move on. You must be interested as you decided to stop by, read some more and leave a comment.

Thanks for your interest. :D

AMEN!
The vendetta is getting out of hand ... particularly since this site was not involved in the transaction at all. The daily/hourly "updates" are stupid and clutter up the board. The point was made. It was a weak point to begin with since nothing was lost except opportunity.

There is No vendetta going on here. Are you blind, read the post and know what you are talking about before making a statement. This site hosted the ad so it was involved other wise I wouldn't have posted feed back about it transaction.

The only thing weak here is your comment and your lack of understand about ethics and integrity when dealing with others.

It was a trading experience via a post on qth. Therefore my feed back is fine and not out of line
