Blown PA Transistors!?!?!?

Post by wb4tdm »

If the finals were blown, how did you get any power out? If the finals were blown, the most output you should have gotten would have been a few watts at best. So how did you get 50 or so on 160 and 75 and then full power on the other bands? If the radio smelled that bad, it should have been sent back immediately! I can't help but wonder if there is more to this story. And after seeing the post from W8JN, I see the full story. Did you really expect a good looking, good working and non-smelly IC-7000 for $200.00!?!?!?!?!? 73 all

Hi Troy WB4TDM, yes, as Paul mentioned please read the post before making statements, that's how we get these messy threads. I sent the radio to Paul Hansen Icom Repair in South Carolina, he is about the best Icom guy out there. I went by what he told me and paid him what he asked. As for the radio itself I paid $900.00 which would have been fair for a 100% complete and working radio, I received a really cigarette stinking low output radio with no manual. . Again people, please read posts carefully before jumping in...

Apologies may be posted here as well (hihi).

Thanks,

I got e-mails from TDM also accusing me of slamming him when I referenced other postings regarding some questionable dealings.

He does need to read what is in print and stop the inane comments and e-mails since he doesn't know what he is talking about.

I have had no dealings with TDM and for good reason. I did my research first. If there is anything questionable, right or wrong, I won't bother.

Suggest you learn to read slower TDM. If would save you a lot of grief.
You are blocked on my e-mail provider so I won't get any more inane e-mails of useless info.

I think the answer most would have to this is that they expect to get an item as advertised. Nothing more, nothing less.

Post by W4AJF »

No money yet, I e-mailed him about a week ago and said he did not have the money, I am still hoping one day he will pay me what he owes me. I will post as soon as he does.

Thanks,
