Quadra VS. Icom PW-1

Post by k3ich » Fri Aug 06, 2004 3:47 am

Anybody have any experience comparing the Yaesu Quadra amp with the Icom PW-1? They both apparentlly use the same eight MRF-150 output FETS. (Which curiously, are out of production according to Motorola ??) I've seen the Quadra do over 1200 watts key down, so that puts it in the same class as a pair of 3-500Z's. Both the Yaesu and the Icom seem to be fairly close in overall specs, but so far, I haven't talked to anyone who has had a chance to compare them side-by-side. I've read the various reviews, but I'd like some hands-on info. Thanks, Charlie k3ICH
