CENTRONICS CONNECTORS

Post by N9LCD »

I have a receiver that requires a 7-contact Centronics type connector (made of unobtainium) for line audio output.

Q: Do all Centronics style connectors have the same contact size and spacing? I'm thinking of cutting a larger connector, possibly from an old printer cable, down to 7 contacts.

Thanks!

Hi Gerald
Is the connector in question a 4+3 pin or 7+7 pin.Centronics made 14,36(printer)&50(scsi) all of which are still available,7,18,& 25 rows of 2.Anything else is probably propritory so GOOD LUCK.There is always a DB 9 or 6Pin Mini Din keyboard plug & jack.

Could you post a picture, somewhere, of the mating connector on the receiver?

I guess you could always replace both sides with a common plug jack combination if keeping the radio "original" is not aproblem..
