Need to test my rig before selling

Just what it says -- this is the place for any discussions not related to Buying, Selling and Trading ham gear. The discussion must be related to Ham Radio.

Need to test my rig before selling

Post by wb9yse »

Greetings all,
I'm preparing to sell my Kenwood TS-830S but the rig has not been used for some time. I have done some testing, but without an antenna, etc., I can't really say with 100% confidence that it's fully functional. Does anyone have a suggestion for how/where I can test the gear in the Minneapolis, MN, area? I certainly don't want to misrepresent the xcvr when I post the sale.

Tnx in advance.

I checked your Call Sign and you are in PLYMOUTH, MN. So, I jumped over to Google and enter PLYMOUTH, MN amateur radio and got this link: http://www.city-data.com/aradio/lic-Ply ... esota.html

You will get a bunch of hits for your area (you are even listed)! Then, just go to http://www.switchboard.com/ and enter the name of one of the Ham's and get his (or her) phone number and give them a call. I'm sure any ham would be happy to let you hook your rig up to their antenna.

Hope this helps...

KE3W,
Thanks for the tip. Yes, I considered that... but feared it would be presumptuous... in fact I also considered driving around looking for yagi's ;-)

I am sort-of hoping someone local will see the post and offer assistance....

Thanks again.
