Kenwood TS-830S jumpy tuning on main VFO

Post by K5BW »

My TS-830S has erratic tuning while using the main VFO tuning knob. It won't respond then jumps frequency. It works great with my external VFO.
Has anyone had this problem and if so what is the fix? :?: :?:

Any help would be great. :!:

Thanks

I had a similar problem a number of years ago with my 830. The problem was resolved by adding lock washers to the VFO board.

I believe that Kenwood had a service bulletin for this, but that was a number of years ago.

Good luck!
