HENRY 2K classic

Post by WB8JBG »

The Henry developed a problem. If I turn it on in the "SSB" position it will trip the fuse(I'll hear some clicking noise) And I will see the voltage flucuate by about 100 to 200 volts. If I turn it on in the "CW" mode the voltage is rock solid, I can then switch over to the "SSB" mode and it works fine. In the last year I have replaced all of the caps and resistors. What's up??????????

Hi, There is no doubt that with the high voltage in the SSB mode, the PS gets a bigger surge on start up. Over the years your circuit breakers in the amp have weakened or the CB in you house panel whichever is tripping. This is called fatigue. If you change to a new CB, the problem should go away. A step start would help. Lou

CB are only one year old, the CB in the amp are only one year old. I'll keep trying. TNX.
