Vertical antenna

Post by ae6or »

Is there anyone that is using a 40/80m vertical?
What brand would you recommend, what would be the best postion to install it, I personally would prefer to be ground mounted.
Thanks

the rule of thumb is the higher it is mounted the less radials you need.

roof of a two story house is an excellant place..

My tri bander is mounted on the roof of a 60x80 all steel building.

'don''t need no stinkin' raidals'

I think you need 120 radials on a ground mount set up.
thats a lot of wire on 40 meters....

Butternut HF2V.

Ground mounted.

Max out radials.

YMMV.
