ICOM IC-V-8000 Backlight Brightness?

Post by N8QBY »

I just recently picked up an Icom V-8000. The first thing that I noticed is that the backlit buttons on both the radio and the mic aren't very bright. They aren't even bright enough to read what is on them. I was wondering if this is common with this radio? I bought this radio new, but the original box was torn, and there wasn't any plastic covering over the display, so I think I got a floor model or something. Anyway, just wondering. I think I might send this back. Thanks, Pat N8QBY

I might add that I am not talking about the brightness of the main display. I know that is adjustable. One would think that the back-lit buttons on both the radio and the mic would also adjust accordingly.
