Driving around with wrong callsign ... KE3GK

Post by KE3GK »

One day I decided to get one of those vinyl stickers made up with my callsign on it to put on the rear window of my car. Since I don't use vanity tags, I thought this would be nice for other Hams to see when I'm on the road and maybe strike up a QSO.

I ordered it, it came, and I put it on.

After about 6 weeks, a friend of mine was looking at my car (300zx) and asked what the KEG3K meant ? Did I drink 3 Keg's of beer ? Or 3 thousand ?

KEG3K ? What ? Huh ? I quickly went and got the window scraper for removal of the sticker.

No wonder no one ever called me simplex on the road !

I like your friend's thinking! 3000 kegs of beer! Maybe that comes after Y2K... KEG3K!

Yes, when you get old ... everything makes sense - if you can remember what it was supposed to be.
