4WD/SUV radio ranges

Just what it says -- this is the place for any discussions not related to Buying, Selling and Trading ham gear. The discussion must be related to Ham Radio.

4WD/SUV radio ranges

Post by Psychonaut »

Hello folks,

I've been looking at this radio http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.store ... View/D1742 (or one in it's price range in Australian dollars) and wonder if it's worth paying this price or stepping up a few bucks. I just want to talk to the next few vehicles ahead and behind of me.
Are there any things to watch out for with one of these units???

Thanks

hello , i have 2 handheld cb's . one cobra & one uniden . in my humble opinion , inside a vehicle there are not much good . cant talk accross the street most on the time . out side they are not to bad . you might see about the little walky talkies that have 1/3 channels . or better yet , get your ham license & use 2 meter hand helds ! ..... just my thoughts .... good luck ,,,,,,,,,, steve n6kkk
