Am antenna

I am thinking of doing some am tx/rx. Can any one give me a few pointers on a home made antenna using wires. I have 200 foot of soild copper wire. It is small in diameter with red plastic coating..thanks for any info. 73 w5acc. Phil.

AM but where? 40 meters?? Same basic antenna rules as any other mode. 468/F (mcycles)

just listening to am broadcast band, then really long wire and maybe a 365mmfd old broadcast variaible cap..accross the antenna input if using a BC band radio..

You are a ham radio operator and you can figure out that you need a simple dipole to transmit and receive? And you are asking how to make a simple dipole? Really ?
