Icom IC-706MKIIG

Post by wb2imh »

Does anyone have an idea for the fix on my IC-706MKIIG that's deaf on 20M and 30M. The signals are there but very weak and there is low transmit on both bands. All other bands work as they should. I bought the radio new and there were no mods done. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Mine did the same thing and it was a transistor.
Surface mounted and beyond my skill level to replace.
A good repair tech will have it up and running again for you in no time.

Thanks, Bill ... the problem is finding a good tech who can work on it. I found two techs but they both said it may be a major problem and
I hesitate to send it off and wind up paying more for the repair than what the radio is worth. I feel it's just what you said and that sounds like an easy fix. Thanks again.
