New Ham needs Discriminator Tap on Scanner

Post by KI7ZXL »

I've read online where to tap a Uniden BCT15X scanner (https://forums.radioreference.com/unide ... w-too.html). I did exactly as described but do not hear anything. Shouldn't I hear static through a speaker? Or something? I even tested it with it wired directly to a speaker bypassing the cap and resistor. Can someone help me? What am I doing wrong?

the purpose is to provide signal to an amplifier and then programm decoder to break down coded type signals. you might not hear anything as the level is way too low for a speaker load of only 4 or 8 ohms.
hook input to an amp or directly to your computer to test.
