who does repairs on vhf/uhf equipment?

Just what it says -- this is the place for any discussions not related to Buying, Selling and Trading ham gear. The discussion must be related to Ham Radio.

who does repairs on vhf/uhf equipment?

Post by N0WYO »

I have a kenwood V7A that the receive on vhf is both 5kc low and high from the target frequency. TX is ok, as is the uhf side. No issues with the screen. I've asked a few shops with no luck if they would repair this radio. Does anyone know who fixes them, or would it even be worth it? Thanks

questions to answer.. what does the display show if put on 146.520.. is it 146.525 ???
is the +5 offset switch/setup turned on??
How do you know it transmits correctly. be sure and look at the display when transmitting.
Everything is worth fixing.. Narrow down the fault as accurate as you can. Then get the documentation and see if you can fix it yourself.
