Ham radio has become an unaffordable luxury.

How do I contact the FCC to cancel my license? I don't want to be tempted to return to ham radio.

This post is months old. Wonder if you got that cancelled?

Anyway, it doesn't have to be so unaffordable to be fun. Lately I've been have a ton of fun on a $200 qrp rig and a home made wire antenna.

Just cuz everyone is flashing their fancy rigs on qrz doesn't mean that you have to keep up with Mr Jones.

Glad you didn't do it! Saw you were on the list a few days ago.

I have been a ham since the 70's and have been in an out of it many times.

My issue has always been a rash of LIDS. In a nice QSO and have someone on top of you calling CQ with a strong signal and so close that that are almost exactly on the same freq. Then are that they could not hear you or something of that nature. When the fun leaves and CB rudeness starts it's time to do something else for me, well until the bug bites again and you start over....
