add on antennas

Post by richardd »

Hi, I have a 17 meter wire antenna up about 20 ft between 2 poles, it is about 30 ft across and runs North to South, I am missing many stations
and want to ADD on to this wire antenna, is this possible and if so how do I do it? or what is a better method?
Thanks for any help. Dick R.

first off is it a dipole configuration??
If so ...do the dipole calculation for the center freq you want to use..(17 is fairly narrow band so it should work all over the band. ))
adjust the wire length accurately.. inches count..
also direction.. I find most activity with an antenna northwest/southeast.. (europe and sw pacific..)
you dont show your location in the US.. NSEW direction would depend on where you are located..

or go here.

your antenna may be too long..
