programming motorola radios for ham frequencies

hi guys, I am an old ex motorola tech, and everybody told me you had to have a 486 or slower computer to program
them. Well I just blew that theory, my win me desktop died, so I grabbed a dell optiplex 240, 2.8 ghz desktop
and got it going, plugged in a dos boot disk, then maxtrac floppy and read my maxtrac 300 vhf radio.
