I am running a 2 meter radio in car. When I transmit the other person receiving the signal is hearing in my alternator noise and gets louder as I rev the engine over his speaker (he is also in a car close or next to me) The only time that he hears it is when I transmit and no other time. I have never experienced that before and dont know what to do. I have my radio hooked directly to the battery and tried other grounding. Could it be that my alternator is going bad? Any help would be appreciated, thanks Reggie N4RRH

beware..... It may not be the alternaotor (been there done that )
A bad blower in the heater can seem like the same problem.. noise changes with rpm..
Most cars the blower runs even at "off"on the controls to keep positive air pressure in the body to prevent exhaust gas from entering.
but a 'whine filter' is available,, even at CB shops...
