Just what it says -- this is the place for any discussions not related to Buying, Selling and Trading ham gear. The discussion must be related to Ham Radio.

I do not know there years of production but the SD model has DSP and the S does not as that is the only difference i'm aware of between them. You can go to Rig Pix for some of your answers.

OK i copied this from another site and this was the only comment about the SDX..

I think you have that backwards. The SD model was the same as the base
950S with the DSP installed. The SDX was a later version. There was a
QST review of the SDX that concentrated on the differences. Ones I
remember are DSP installed with some more functions, different types of
final transistors (bipolar vs FET I think), some additional memory
functions. I believe the consensus was that the SDX was a better
receiver but the S/SD is a cleaner transmitter.

You can also go to E Ham.net and go to reviews and read owners comments on all three of the 950's...

I do not know how to date Kenwood radios but the 30 million number tells me it is a older one.

From what i've heard is that the Kenwood 950 is a nightmare for Technicians to work on. As for the Yaesu does it have the updated ROM? I know it would be a hard choice to pick from but as far as i know $1200 euro's sounds about like how they would bring in American Dollars of close to $2,000 dollars depending of course the over all condition of the radios. I do not think either one will dissapoint you.
