9A to 9L would be the first 9 year of production. 9M to 9X should be the 2nd 9 year of production. Therefore, I am guesing 1999.

How Old am I???

Post by NM7L »

I was always under the impression that Yaesu started their month codes with C (for January). A search on "FT-1000d" on Google shows a website that states the '1000D was released in late 1989, thereby making this 1000D a December 1989 vintage unit based on the above information.

You are probably right. I started with A rather than C but you have it correct.
