I rec'd the following email today (cut pasted):

My name is Danny Porini and i am from London,England.
I have for sale a Yaesu FT-1000D HFTransceiver 200W.This is like new in original
box with all accesories.
I want USD for 1500 a piece.I can get 3 pieces.
If you buy them all i will make a 20 % discount from the total price.
Shipping and assurence is free.Fast shipping via UPS eXpress Air.
Payment is made via Western Union wire transfer or direct bank account.

Thanks nand have a nice day!
There are several red flags here. 1st, there is a hotmail email address ( which is virtually untraceable. 2nd, the Queen's English is butchered. That's something you just rarely find in the UK. 3rd, the price is just too good to be true (+ the offer of further discount for a LOT of $$ in his account). 4th, wire or bank to bank requirement. 5th, shipping and "assurence" is free.

These are some of the red flags that you can watch and avoid scams. If any of you want to buy some beachfront property in Kansas, the email address is provided for your use.
