Disparaging comments about advertizers

I have just noted an extremely irritating complaint posted about someone asking for help with a piece of gear. The critic goes on to say that the person asking for help is not licensed (He did not post a call sign) and intends to fix his radio to sell it at another site. The critic further stated that this person has no business using qth.com What gives this critic the right to determine who can post on qth. A license is not required to own a radio, only to use the transmitter. I have seen several posts by various individuals here who would like to regulate the traffic at this sight even though the posting in question is perfectly legitamate. By the way the critics call according to QRZ was a fake. I think Scott has done a teriffic job of policing the site and I'm sure he would ask for help if he needed it....That said...73.....Lew...W2LEW

You are right, and the posting in question was deleted from the QTH.com Classifieds.

Hi Scott,
First off I would like to say this is a great idea setting up this link. :D

Re the comments  placed in the classifieds about adds placed, should be left up to your disgression, others that put comments about the adds look like Police officers and seem to agrivate the situation. 8)

If they are not interested in what is for offer and by whom then let it lie.

The comments seem to make the hobby look bad especially for those interested in Ham Radio.

Leave it up to the owner of the site to decide who and what is advertised :D
after all Scott is the brains behind this site and is a credit to him

Put comments to a better use and help the hobby

Thanks for the nice words, Barry.

Regarding WA0RRZ, if you look at his ad, and click the "Click to E-mail" link, it also lists his phone number. Have you tried to call him, if he is not responding to your e-mails?

Here's the link to the ad, with the phone number:

So it is ok to post here without a call sign?

Call Signs

Hamer, just like the other sites, it is not required. Scott would like people to use them, but not required.

Since you are a member now, look at the Memberlist and you will see many do not use a call or even have an email listed. No email is sad, as if someone has a question, maybe you want to send him an email and discuss things. Just like no call sign, you just cannot converse with them. True you might be able to send a message via this site, still it is not the same.
