FT 401, FV 401

I bought these two pieces from a retired repairman in order to get some other pieces.
The FT 401 does not work- the tech told me it needs a tube, and that something had been spilled in it before he got it. I've no idea what the actual condition is. The fuse blows when it's turned on with power. I should have used a light bulb inline, but took the guy's word that it would fire up okay.
Looking to find it a someone that can use it: anyone want to take a stab at what it's worth?
The FV 401 looks like it's in good shape, not beat up and nothing spilled in it, same request as above.
