Gregg Fletchner, WJ8Y

Post by N7KFD »

On May29th 2011 I posted an add looking for a Standard C528. Gregg Fletchner, WJ8Y answered my ad saying he had two of them that he would sell me. I sent Gregg a money order on June 4th and have not heard from him since.I sent one email per day this week and he has failed to reply to any of them, I found a cell phone number on his ARRL profile page but I get nothing but a Verizon Wireless recording that says this person is unavailable. Gregg's address is:

GREGG C FLECHTNER
54 WEST MARKET
TIFFIN, OH 44883

If there are any hams in the Tiffin, OH area that know Gregg perhaps one of you would be willing to contact him and ask him to respond to any of the thirteen emails I have sent him or ask him when he plans on sending me the radios he has been paid for.

Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help me out, I wll be extremely grateful.

This was a "no communications after the sale" but it had a happy ending: WJ8Y - WHERE ARE YOU

I hope it doesn't take a month to resolve this.

Gregg finally replied today with a USPS tracking number only after sending him an email explaining that I had filed a mail fraud complaint with the Post Office and if he did not respond I would file a complaint with the FBI and contact a lawyer to seek further legal action.

I definitely learned a lesson, I will thoroughly research anyone I am considering doing business with in the future. I have never had an issue like this before, I have always felt that ham's were upstanding, straight forward people who wouldn't try to rip me off. I'm sure the majority are that way but I will be much more cautious going forward.
