Here is a reply I received from an ad on QTH .
The person responding , stole the identity of a ham in the UK,
I sent an Email to the ham in the UK and his response is at the bottom

It's a fraud.

Looks like it is by someone who does not speak english as their first language.

It would be unusual to use Western Union in the UK.

I would guess African, maybe Nigerian, but I really don't know

This happened to me, too. I advertised on two other forums, looking for an Ameco AC-1. I was surprised when 3 hams in the UK replied (I didn't even know the AC-1 was sold in the UK), but quickly became suspicious.

The other two replies are probably from the same person. One gave me his phone number and seemed shocked when I called him. He didn't sound English, and when I asked how much he wanted for the AC-1 he wanted to hang up and reply by e-mail.

Be careful.

Wow, I posted a WTB ,Mosley Mini Beam on here and got a reply from the Scammer Cris" also, and a James Doyle from the UK. Both wanted Western Union Money Orders. And they said shipping would only be $18.00 for the mini beam???? Beware.

Another reply for the Mosley Mini Beam that I wanted to buy. Yet again demanding payment thru WU. I would like to buy a Mosley Mini beam for the price he stated including shipping from the UK????
