N0YK - Chad - A+

Post by w4qg »

All,

I can tell you that I recently had a very good transaction with Chad. He posted a Hickok 752A tube tester on QTH a few weeks ago at a VERY reasonable price (cheap actually). He plainly stated that the working condition was unknown (he's not a tube guy) and that it was in his opinion in fair condition overall.

He responded to my emails VERY quickly and was always happy to respond to any questions. Payment was made. He was nice enough to let me use my UPS account to pay for the shipping. Chad shipped it the very next day after he received my payment.

He also sent me an email during the package's transit to me , wondering if there was a UPS foul up with the delivery (actually I gave Chad the wrong delivery zip - totally my fault) --- that also showed that Chad was taking the time to make sure my 752A made it to me.

The instrument was packaged in an over sized box with plenty of packing materials and made the trip just fine, despite UPS's best efforts to damage it.

Well, I opened the package and took a look at the 752A. Much to my joy, it has a near perfect front panel, barely a scratch on it. Interior of the instrument looks great too. It did have a bad #83 tube in it (very common for those Mercury Vapor Rectifiers to go bad) but besides for that, it was in perfect working order. Only negative comment I can possibly say is that the outside of the case is not in great shape (not bad either) and even that is at least in reasonably good condition. (instrument was in considerably better shape than Chad's "fair condition" assessment. .) I am VERY VERY happy with this tester!!!

Chad is definitely a FB fellow and I have ABSOLUTELY no reservations what-so-ever in dealing with him again.

73 to all,

Paul W4QG
