TO ALL HAMS >>> Read ASAP .

Post by extraclasstexan »

From an Extra :Well i would like to say a few words if i may. I have watched everyone post here for a several years now. I have noticed its getting progressively worse as time goes by. as the economy goes down hill the crooks and thieves come out of the wood work.I cant believe how many of you fall for some of the ads that are posted. If it sounds to good to be true. It is !!!! But the thing of it is you complain when you get burned. And its you own fault. If you think you can get a deal you fall right into the trap. Being greedy and thinking your over on somebody. Then whine like a B when you get burned. Its so pathetic. 2/3rds of you are nothing but cry babies. Then get on here and cry on every bodies skirt tail hollering for someone to please help me. Oh he took advantage of me !!! Whine Whine !!! And you know when you made the deal it was risky in the first place. Be a man and deal with it. I also see Lynch parties. When someone complains they got took, Everyone climbs on board to destroy someone when your only hearing one side of the story. You need to hear from both sides before passing judgment on anyone. No. Everyone ready too call the FBI and CIA and DHS and what ever the heck .You need to grow the hell up and take responsibility for your own actions. Quit being so dumb. When you get something from someone quit breaking out the magnifying glass to find a scratch just to have something to complain about. Your nothing but a bunch of drama queens !!! Scott, Your a good guy i have enjoyed your site for years. When you have more bad deals than good ones its time to change something. Adam Farber is about the only one i know of on here that i would even deal with. I could send him 10,000 dollars and never worry about it for a minute. Everyone needs to Quit acting like a bunch of second class lids.

The bottom line is that most people focus on the "bad times" just like the news papers. If the news papers were to use only "good times" they would run out of paper and no one would read it because most people thrive on bad news....

I have completed at least 200 transactions on QTH and have never been bitten yet. I even "request" personal checks and in most cases ship ahead of payment.

It does not take a rocket scientist to do a "little" homework before a transaction using simple Internet protocall.... "Google" is a miracle.

Trust the Lord , then trust people (after a little homeowork) ....Works every time.

Some truth....

Why no callsign?

While some of what you say may be true, if it were not for this site and people posting their experiences you would not think that Adam Farber (Hi Adam!) was the only person you could deal with. So while you complain, you are still benefiting from the purpose of this forum.

I noticed your willing to stand on your soap box and critiize and call people names such as whiners and crybabies but not brave enough to post your call or name. I agree with Paul and the others that the purpose of this site is for FEED BACK good or bad. If you feel you got screwed tell us and if enough people have had the same experience then only a fool will continue to deal with that person. Also if i or any one else feels we got took but every body else says not i then that tells others that there is more to the story. So until your willing to share your call i or no one else even knows if your a real Ham or just a troll bored and wanting to stir the pot. Larry Huff K0pd

There are some merits to "extralowclasstexan's" comments.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!!

It's hard to cheat an honest man!

We had another crooked financier up here get arrested for fraud. He was paying sixteen percent interest per month. That compounds out to 593.60% annual interest. Still this guy got away with at least $40,000,000.

I often wonder how many negative comments result from purely a difference in opinion. We have to remember that CONDITION AND VALUE are nothing more than PERSONAL OPINIONS!

When collectors' coins are professionally graded and "slabbed", or sealed in plastic, the grade is assigned by a panel of three "neutral" experts in order to minimize the impact of any one individual opinion.

Sellers will tend to grade high to maximize the selling price. Buyers will tend to grade low to minimize the price. Anybody who's bought a house should know that!

IF SOMEBODY WANTS TO TAKE YOU AND TRIES HARD ENOUGH, THEY CAN AND PROBABLY WILL.

I enjoyed reading this thread and liked Paul W8JN and Bill's N4ATS comments (both of whom I have purchased from before).

The Feedback Forum is productive and the first thing I check when considering a purchase,...

It would be appropriate of you to post your call and not use the 'extraclasstexan' username. Most individuals on this site would gladly assist you in 'how' to do your 'homework' on a potential Buyer/Seller.

gerald you are correct

Post by w8jn »

gerald, everything you say is accurate, especially the part about con men. someone who is out to steal your money is difficult to stop, however some prudent research will help. if john doe from bumblesnork usa has something to sell, run his name and call in google, find the ham clubs in bumblesnork, get on the phone and start calling the people in his local clubs and find out if they know him. in 99% of the cases they will be glad to help a fellow ham. he may have a great or terrible reputation locally.
please advise us , who was just picked up by the authorities?

Paul:

This guy's name is "David Hernandez". He purportedly tried to commit suicide in a Normal, Illinois motel room.

He purportedly was diverting money from a chain of supposed payday loan stores to something called "Chicago Sports Web..." with Mike(?) North.

I stand corrected on the amount of the "take". The Chicago Tribune has it at about $11,000,000.

I , too have completed over 200 deals here and on QRZ. and have been had twice, once by AE1CT, outright liar about condition and issues with a piece of junk advertised as "excellent condition, and once by KE5WXX, theft of $300.00 for an "insured radio" that has semed to have been "lost" by the USPS. I've been waiting since last February on that one. Have saved E-mail exchanges from both of these scoundrels to support my claims.
Like Bill, I often ship before receiving payment, as well and have never been burned for it yet. Most of the times, especially when I'm the buyer, I will check the reviews in the different feedback forums. Sometimes I just get that warm and fuzzy feeling about a deal and go with it!
All in all, only two bad deals ain't so bad......... just my two cents worth 73 :P
