KG4WSB Unfortunate Transaction

Post by nz4z »

I hope this clears my issue up, and that everyone understands. I (NZ4Z) sold my Mirage MP1 swr/watt meter to KG4WSB, and when I sent it, it was working fine......WI4M & AC4PY were both witness to this. And in my description, I put from non-smoking home, which was also true. KG4WSB sends it back saying it would only show 50 watts max, and the needle is below 0, and will not adjust back to 0. It arrives back, and it is as he says, but now REEKS of cigarette smoke, terrible! I could never advertise it again as non-smoking, and I feel that is considered damage also. My elmer says the needle, and reading issue may be from too much power he may have applied. The box showed no damage, and used heavy bubble wrap & peanuts. I have sent it back to him, and hope it's a minor issue to repair, but I feel nothing was done wrong on my end. I'm not trying to put a negative mark on him, just hoping everyone understands.
