N8LUV AKA Jim Mc Clellan stole $610 from me straight out. I bough a 706MKIIG from him off of Ebay and sent him payment but he never shipped me the radio. All emails have went unanswered and the phone number he had listed on Ebay is not a valid number. Pay-pal did recover $175 but that was all they could get because that is all he had in his account. It's been over three months now and I have yet to receive any response from him nor have I recovered the rest of my money.

Hmmm...

ANOTHER Ebay seller turns out to be a fraudster, and apparently Ebay themselves has done nothing with this person??

Sounds like PayPal (Ebay relation) did get somewhere anyway.

But all too often, EBAY does NOT stop these people, even when they are clearly caught directly scamming people out of their money. Or perhaps they just don't want to make it known that fraud occurs on their pages every day, probably thousands or more times per day.

Heck, what's 1 or 2 percent of a few million?
Ooops !! That's 30,000 people if you figure only 1 percent out of 3 million transactions !! Per day ?!?!

Acceptable "losses" ?

Guys .. I have dealt with Jim and did not have the same experience as you. He was upfront and honest. I visited his home and he was quite gracious and stuck to our deal even though his circumstanced had changed. I found him to be honorable!

Just to post an update to this as of today December 4th 2007(almost 1 year since he stole my money)James McClellan has still not refunded the rest of my money nor has he made any attempt to make contact with me. To this day pay-pal is still waiting on him to respond with an explanation but he refuses.

I also sent this crook money for a Heathkit Receiver which was going to be sent in a day or so. After a couple of months and many threating phone calls informing him I had contacted the Postmaster from my post office I was going to file Postal Fraud and file a lawsuit for theft by deception I finally received a refund. This man is a CROOK and is not to be trusted under any condition.!!!
