Fred VE1FA

I purchased a signal generator from Fred VE1FA for $300 US PLUS shipping which was over $50.. The generator arrived very nicely packed with no damage to the packing box or anything else. The generator is JUNK, It does not work below 200MHz so from 2 meters down it is useless. The unit is extremely unstable and loaded with harmonics. I verified this by observing on my spectrum analyzer.

When I notified him he responded with all kinds of excuses such as it must have happened in shipment. Also he had made numerous repairs to the unit. NONE of this was mentioned in the initial description and subsequent communications. I was taken once again by a ham who had junk and sold it as a working unit. I strongly urge anyone who is contemplating a purchase with Freddy not to do it.
