Last week I sold a Kenwood TS-450SAT to WD4CEJ, Robert Fago in Hampton, VA. I sent the radio USPS standard post and insured it for the amount of the sale. The radio arrived on Saturday Dec. 20th, 2014. Today I get this email from Bob:
George the unit xmitted fog a second I trurned it off ...Iremoved the bottom there where three screws loose inside some one removed the filters and left the screws in there...I called kenwood east and they want 150.00 to fix it ..so what should we do at this point???Bob wd4cej
Later when I questioned him about the "missing filters" and asked him to provide pictures of the radio and shipping box, here is what he sent back to me:
well don't worry...It's my problem...bobthanks I'll find out what happened....it did not make any rattles...they where jammed into place...and it not have any holes in the box.....see ya...bob
Notice the first email says the screws were loose, last email says they were jammed inside the radio. Also note the bad English and spelling.
I think this is a scam..BEWARE OF WD4CEJ
