I bought a Kenwood TS 2000 from N0AKF his emails said radio was 100% when getting radio it cuts out on receive on hf bands, there was no serial tag on radio thru emails found out radio is more than 4 years old and he got it used he sold this to me for $1100.00 to me that's not fair market value a lot for older radio. he will not take back radio I'm out $1100.00 hard earned money be care full dealing with this man I am going to attorney general to resolve this.
Re: N0AKF
Ref this transaction - the issue with the TS-2000 is NOT an issue with the radio. The radio has an over-voltage protection circuit and when the radio senses too much voltage then the circuit kicks in. Reducing the input voltage from the power supply solves this. This is a safety in the radio. As for age/condition of radio all questions were answered prior to sale and photos from all angles provided. I tried to help the buyer out in understanding about reducing the voltage. As for price - the price included insured - double boxed Fed-Ex shipping and paypal. The buyer agreed to the price. I am sorry he is not happy, but I can not be responsible for buyer's remorse. The radio works 100%.

Saucier (kc2awr). Thank you for you're post. I almost purchased a ft-950 from this guy. It is very helpful for people to post here. That ts-2000 sounds like a real basket case. I have hade 2 of them and no where in the owners manual does it say overload protection for voltage. Or to lower the voltage. Especially if if it works on. 2 meters and not on hf. It's probley. The ceramic filters that are a every other day herd of. Check the serial number on the radio. Kenwood is paying for some of them to be repaired You will have to ask about what s/n is affected. Good luck.
