I had an R4-C which I mishandled the power-up, on a variac, and smoked the power supply. The receiver was very close to being parted out, until the folks on the Drake Radio Yahoo User Group reminded me just how much I do NOT like cannibalizing rigs, and one (maybe more) recommended that I contact Gary, regarding a power supply. I did so, he had one, and the price was right. So, I bought the power supply, and I believe I am about to save a very good condition R4-C, from being parted out.
Kudos, to Gary, and a kick in the shin to me, for thinking about parting out this beauty.
Gary is "Da Man", if you need transformers. Fair priced, and sells only quality stuff.
I recommend him HIGHLY!!!
