Beware of Steven Hood from Knoxville

I am not going in to too much detail for now as this will posibily be another criminal investigation.
Just a heads up to members of the QTH group to beware of this person.
Known on eBay as knight-tech-2 and Steven.Hood.74
I am giving him a chance to correct the errors of his ways before calling in the State police on this person also.
He currently has available a Kenwood TL-922 and a TS-940 line up as well as some Daiwa tuners etc, a good amount of stuff.
He thinks he is a clever individual but not in this case.
If I feel to post more I will but for now thats it, just beware.

That's not exactly a lot to go on Martyn.

Exactly what is the problem here? Misrepresentation? Stolen property? Unshipped or poorly shipped goods in the past? Bad breath?

Exactly what are we supposed to be wary of?

Fraud by the way of obtaining money by deception.

Ok as of now it is in the hands of the State Police as I am not messing around with this crook.

I purchased a radio, initially Paid via PayPal, seller claimed I paid the wrong account, he sent a PayPal request for a new payment to a different account and refunded my original payment, I then paid the new account to be told an hour after payment the sellers PayPal account had been hacked,, now that was not a biggie as I am so well protected through PayPal I will use them whenever I can,, so seller calls me up and asks for payment direct,, so we send next day priority a company check, his son is in hospital and he needs to pay for chemo etc and he will die without being paid, well the payment didn’t get there in 24 hours so I told him if he wanted to come over I would give him cash so he did,, got this all on surveillance cameras here :) he was nervous, sweaty and an odd fellow,, anyway he said he would send back the payment we mailed to him, well the crook cashed it.

So here is what we have, lied about his PayPal account being hacked,, checked with my PayPal manager there and he is one of the same, and cashed the funds we sent him despite taking the cash we gave him.

So he owes PayPal $900 and me $900

I am not saying any more than that as the police have their thing to do.

Sorry to hear about this.

It does make a difference if the allegation (not that I disbelieve you per se, but I have no personal knowledge so I can't state it as a fact) is a difference of opinion on the condition of the item, or a shipping discrepancy... or an allegation of fraud.

I think it's good to have an idea of what the issue is.

Good luck.

Why in the world you, after thousands of transactions with the public, give a person who owes you $900 from a previous "cancelled" PayPal payment an additional $900 in CASH without, first, being certain the previous PayPal transaction had been cancelled?

Shouldn't "PayPal was Hacked" have waved a BIG RED FLAG?

I am getting used to this.

Re Paul Glassman of my state Kentucky
I find your comments as always, insulting, pathetic and untrue, you hide behind your keyboard passing judjement on many and have such inaccurate quotes.
I post on here as a warning to others and not to be played with by you.
and as far as your comments re eBay? you know I have my account and my wife has hers both power sellers and hers is a top rated seller, I have never been suspended and have NEVER bid on my own stuff (shill bidding)
Paul you are a nasty peice of work and your BS seems to be normal,, odd that it is only you that is making negative comments here.

KG4MIO, please edit your post to clearly differentiate your comments from the ones of mine you are quoting.

As currently posted, it implies that your comments are mine. And those are not my words.

Thank you for taking care of that.

KJ4ROI.
I had the state police here yesterday and they have pictures of him and other necessary paperwork to hopefully prosecute him.
Did you get the state police information I sent to you?
I feel bad for you as our circumstances are different but will help you put however I can.

One simple question.
He came over to get the cash, why did he not bring the item over at the same time? why would you give anyone cash with out the product in hand.
that in itself just does not sound right.

I already had the radio here.
Long story short, I won it on eBay, paid via PayPal, he refunded the payment and asked for payment to a new PayPal address which was found to be fake so we reported that which then meant I had the rig and he had no money then we sent him payment by post but he said he never received it so we invited him up to get cash instead as he was desperate.
It went south from there on when he cashed the check we sent also.
With me now?

I do not think K4TEK said he never received product. I think the complaint is that the seller got payed twice. Correct me if I am wrong. :?:

Yes thats 100% right, the seller actually got paid 4 times in totalbut technically he got paid 2 times at the end, once in cash in person and once by the money we sent him usps priority that was supposed to come back to us but he thought he would cash it instead.

I am calling this a close to the thread,, I think the seller has been well covered now so I am just going to leave it as it is.

Enough said.

73s and be careful with some people.

Well I had forgotten him until last night

I received a call last night from another person in Knoxville who had been scammed by this person for over $1000.
He did tell me that Hood is now in Jail on charges of aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
I was also told that the equipment he initially offered for sale was stolen ( i can believe that)
I have kept the Hams phone # just in case any one needs it regarding this case.
He does propose to press criminal charges (theft by deception)
If anyone else has had an issue with this crook may I recommend they post here and contact their state or local police.

This is a email Martyn / Radio-mart sent to me a week ago.

Hi there Darryl,

Happy Christmas to you and yours J

Got a good sized file on you for what your trying to do behind my back tut tut tut darryl.

Remember this, you are in the miserable minority, some would call nosey s**t stirrers? But I have a LOT of friends hence my file on you.

Don’t you get it? Over 25,500 positive feedbacks on eBay with 2 accounts, over 6,000 sales this year on my own web site, do you hear any one screaming I ripped them off, no and the 3 or 4 who claim that are just like you, full of it.

Now Daryl my man, go and get yourself a life spend some time on the air rather than in front of the PC, just saying.

Now keep up your BS and let’s see where this ends up

Later young man…

This is the "true Radio-Mart / Martyn Allison " shining through for all to see.

Martyn wants so badly to be seen as a "professional " and then writes letters like this and sends them to people ?

A state attorney general won't touch something like this - it isn't his job. An A.G.'s job is to defend the state he works for against lawsuits and give legal advice to the governor. The state police won't waste their time with stuff like this either. Its in 'Paypal's precinct' and that is it.

In your world though a state attorney general would stop everything he's doing to straighten out a radio deal.

I am very lucky I managed via the bank to get a late stop check on the check he tried to cash but what he also did was to get a poor ham in Knoxville to give him cash for a known stopped check.
The guy is currently in jail which is exactly where he belongs.
I have pictures of the guy here as evidence should the case with other fellow hams come to court for a civil matter?
I am lucky but feel sad for the 4 other hams I know have been victims.

I have information of another Ham in Knoxville TN, Eric Hefner who has been scammed by Steven, this time Steven presented him with a known stopped check passing it off as okay to be cashed, Eric gave him the cash after being tricked in to thinking the check was good and counter signed.

Eric is out $1000, I have Erics details and he is also in touch with the Knoxville police.

Found some surveillance pictures of Steven when he came to meet me once
Enjoy them as this is the crook.

Is this kind of post even legal?? At the very least, it's a good way to wind up in the county morgue. Way over the top.

I guess that depends?
I have asked the forum owner if he minds or not to be 100% certain that he is okay with it?
I posted them to show how such an innocent looking transaction has some sour behind the scenes intention.
Since he came to pay me a visit I am reliably informed that he is currently serving time for Aggrivated robbery and kidnapping as well as theft by deception.
Mr Hood does not scare me and I am quite able to look after myself but thank you for your concern.
The KSP are fully aware of this transaction.
Not much more I can say.
