For reports of scammers using other people's callsigns. Remember that any callsigns listed in this forum are likely innocent bystanders (subjects of identity theft) and, thus, are probably not guilty of anything. For bad transactions with verified ham operators, use the Feedback Forum instead.

N7NSD POSSIBLY HACKED

Post by ke6fqc »

Heading: ****POSSIBLE SCAMMER***** n7nsd hacked??
Ad Message: Got an email tonight offering this ft890 with fp800 for super cheap. Did not find any listings here or on qrz swap. Looking on Google..........PRESTO, SAME EXACT PIC AND DESCRIPTION FROM A 2017 AD FROM AN EASTERN HAM. N7NSD HAS NO EMAIL ON HIS QRZ PAGE but he's in the west. BEST WAY FOR A SCAMMER TO START USING HIS INFO. I hope I'm wrong, but putting this out here anyway. I replied to the suspected email questioning the ad and haven't heard back.........tells me my suspicions were right. Could not cut/paste the email, sorry.
