Someone is posing as W9VC answering qth ads

For reports of scammers using other people's callsigns. Remember that any callsigns listed in this forum are likely innocent bystanders (subjects of identity theft) and, thus, are probably not guilty of anything. For bad transactions with verified ham operators, use the Feedback Forum instead.

someone with an IP in Austrailia is posing as Bill W9VC, using a copycat email address, and has been answering for sale ads on QTH. he asks for shipping costs to Texas(W9VC is from Richmond,IN) thens asks if a cashiers check is acceptable. Then a fake check for a larger amount is sent, the seller is informed there has been an error and asked to send a refund. please read QRZ bio for W9VC, and ignore the attempt to steal money from you by this scumbag.
