KG6TTJ Tried to scam me too

Post by kg4ljb »

Looks like this guy - or whoever is pretending to be him - is on a roll. He responded to my WTB ad looking for a Rigexpert 230Pro antenna analyzer. When this was in production this sold for about 600 bucks.

His response to my ad was in poor English. I asked for a photo, and a couple of days later he sent a photo that just looked too good to be true. The unit still had the LCD protective film.

I did a Google images search for the antenna analyzer and quickly found the
E X A C T photo he had sent me - from an Asian web site.

I played along - and offered him $75.00 - a ridiculously low amount, and asked him to give me his address "so I could send him a postal money order".

He responded - AND AGREED TO MY OFFER - but said he could only accept Paypal. I guess he knows to avoid mail fraud.
