On January 13, 2014 I answered an ad posted by KC5IEX, call belonging to Carl G. Sigler of Russellville, AR. We agreed on a price for an Icom 706 mkiiG of $600.00. After researching the call sign and not finding anything negative I made payment for the radio. After excuses for not shipping and after a few days of my e-mails not being unanswered, I found a ham in Russellville who helped me track down the REAL Carl G. Sigler. I spoke with Carl Sigler on the morning of January 23, 2014 and he stated he had not placed the ad and was no long very active in amateur radio. Carl said he contacted QTH and told them he had not placed the ad and to take it down and that if someone was posting or trying to place ads using his call it was not him. The REAl Carl Sigler is a nice guy. I have turned this over to law enforcement but am still out $600.00 and nothing to show for it.

Glenn,

Where was this guy that scammed you supposed to live? Just wondering because I got scammed by a guy named Timothy M. Carrol that lived in Texas. In fact he scammed a lot of people. Mine was a small amount but other people were out thousands of dollars. Some of us pursued legal action but you have to file a police report in your own city before you can do anything.

It might be helpful if you could provide the detailed contact information showing where you sent the payment.
