Read the sellers description again. Basically he said he plugged in it and all the tubes lit up and HE DID NO MORE FURTHER TESTS. This is one notch above above "NOT TESTED YOU GET IT AS IT IS." How big is the notch? Not too much but a little new Information that none of the tubes are dead. Also that...

Re: Shipping your stuff at buyers expense.

Well said, Mike.

I had the privilege of living in Juneau for six years. It is astounding how many American tourists from the tour boats asked if American Dollars were accepted in Juneau.

Re: HOW DO YOU HANDLE A CHEAP BUYER?

Q: What do you do when the buyer is TOO CHEAP to pay for proper packing? (Other than refuse to sell.) What I will do is continue to attempt to find a suitable buyer. Life it too short to put up with people who want something for nothing. Proper shipping of your equipment is not negotiable. Who pays...

Re: shipping via FedEx Home Delivery

After over ten years of shipping high volumes of electronics equipment all over the US I have learned FedEx is the best carrier service available. Their drivers rarely miss a pickup and always place my deliveries out of the weather in a secure location. Because of other carriers' significantly high ...

Re: Stateside Non-QSLers

Since the problem seems to be the ARRL's inability to grasp, understand, and/or use modern communication capabilities, such as eQSL, perhaps the solution is to fix the ARRL. Think about it. Millions of dollars are transmitted around the world each minute on the Internet, yet there seems to be a perc...

Re: Update help needed

Harold: Every antenna site is different but here are some thoughts on your question. A 40 meter yagi is quite large, so large it's use on a single tower might be the way to go. I suggest using a 48 foot tower for the 40 meter antenna. If this tower can be a crank down to allow you to work on the ant...

Doug: Is it possible Tom is incapacitated in some way, (out of town, ill, etc.) and has a valid reason for not contacting you? If you are unable to contact him is one thing. Larry:

Congratulations and welcome back.

It would be very helpful if you would let us know the brand and model of the gear needing attention. Some repair shops only work on tube-type gear, others on solid state, etc. What is your need?

Cheers,

John. This transaction with HAM FEST HAM cost me $ 362.85 and I do not have a thing to show for it but my pride in being honest, that is the way I was brought up. I'm almost 86 years old living on social security a pension of $127.02 and one for $103.42 a month and my XYL's social security. But we ...

Re: Mosley TA 33M brand new in box

In my opinion, the TA-33M triband is the best triband beam of its type. It sold for around $300 plus shipping. That antenna, in your garage, is worth more than any trade for two meter equipment. My bet is, in time, you will want to use the 33M and will sorely regret getting rid of it, if you do. KEE...

Re: Please post pictures!

No picture means 'something to hide'. I disagree. This conclusion assumes all users without a photo with their ad is a cheater and is naturally dishonest. There are uncountable reasons one can't or won't post a picture--some good some bad. But to assume the worst in people is unwarranted, in my opi...

Re: Should I buy the Yaesu ft1000mp v or the Icom 775dsp

A key question is, "Which can be serviced if there is a technical problem. Are 775DSP parts still available? Ft1000mp parts still available? Put another way, lets imagine you buy one of these radios, have it shipped and when you get it it does not work. Shipping damage or some other problem. Is it f...

Re: Whats a good Radio to purchase?

Angi: To meet the needs you have described you will need two radios, a mobile unit and, perhaps, a hand held unit. Both units should be dual banded, having both VHF (2 meters) and UHF (70 cm) bands. The mobile installation will require a dual-band antenna. The dual-band antenna for the HT come with ...
