Hi Dennis. This was a "Money Gram Money Order" and not from the Post Office. I do not know what their policy is. But there was nothing on the MO that indicated who it was FROM. If they allowed anyone to walk in and cash any MO that had anybody's name on the TO part... well, that would be a bad secur...

KF6SIP John Ortiz & KG6YSB Debra Collins - Scammed me

Boy, that's two times in the last month where I tried to help someone out that misdirected something to me, and I got burned. This one really hurt. 1) John Ortiz KF6SIP of Sacramento, CA sent me a Money Gram Money Order for $350 by mistake. This happens sometimes... people see my callsign on the cla...

You not only posted the item as a trade, but you ALSO posted the price for the item and said you'd sell it for cash. We allow non-ham items to be traded for ham gear... that makes it still related to ham radio.

OK, this part I am NOT familiar with. If he is entering the credit card info and he is NOT a PayPal user, isn't PayPal just going to reject his credit card "payment"???? Sounds like you do not understand how PayPal works at all. No, they will not reject the payment. Customers can pay by credit card...

Bill, PayPal senses whether the person coming to their site to make a payment has used PayPal before (by looking at cookies). If they can see they are a PayPal user, they immediately present the PayPal Username and Password box to login. HOWEVER if the user does not look like a PayPal user, they wil...

Hopefully the vast majority of hams know that GTY7R is not a valid callsign, and would not enter into any transactions with someone that is clearly a scammer.

I never took your account away, for this website, http://chat.qth.com. Absolutely nothing was changed for this web site. The only changes were on the classified ad website at http://swap.qth.com.

Completely false. We do not restrict usage in our Feedback Forum here. It is true that W6HFS is blocked from using our classified ads, but he is not blocked from our Feedback Forum.

I was lucky enough to work K5N for two new grids the other day. 1,074 miles from here to there, so a little long for meteor scatter, but with their great setup, and some good rocks, I was able to work them easily. :-) Thanks for the site feedback -- will take it into consideration and maybe somethin...

The primary focus of the classifieds is to buy/sell/trade equipment. I guess I really don't want to "encourage" a lot of "help me do something" ads. But an occasional request for help, is OK, I guess. Hopefully it works out OK for you.

I think it would be OK to post a wanted ad in the classifieds. Could probably use the Antenna category, or maybe Miscellaneous?

Won't be an advertiser long, if there is evidence of fraud. But, where's the evidence? I've not even seen any evidence this KD6 guy owned an IC-7600, much less shipped one. Just looking for the other side.

There isn't any way that I can stop this. As you've noted, you can edit your ad 3x, then after that you'd have to delete the ad and place a new one. Those that feel the need to push their junk to the top of the ads every day have no problem relisting the same ad. Programming wise, it would be very d...

Re: PAYPAL

And what's the problem of mentioning the PayPal fee in an ad? I use a gas station that prominently posts CASH and CREDIT prices. Naturally, I pay cash and save $0.04 per gallon. When you accept Credit Cards or PayPal, it is legal to give a cash discount, but it is against their terms and conditions...
