Why would you send an item without having possesion of the funds first? Perhaps for the same reason you would not send the money until you had the item in your possession. Someone has to trust someone and send something first. It is just as likely to send the money and not get the item as it is to ...

Re: Help with a 100 watt amp for fm broadcasting

Yet another ham turned FM radio pirate. The FCC busts several of them each year and here is this guy standing in line to be next. What is the attraction of being a pirate radio operator? it seems to be all risk and no real gains. The movie PUMP UP THE VOLUME glamorized the FM pirate operator and for...

One well placed hatchet chop would relieve your problem for a while. Two would be better. But then there is no ham radio at all in jail. Too bad the originations we support with out money turn a deaf ear when we need some help. Even worse when the other local hams wont help. Consider getting attorne...

Re: A rant

I know just what you are talking about, Bill. Three months ago I listed a Dentron antenna tuner and got a guy in TN that called three times to talk about it. Last call he said he wanted to buy it and was sending the money. Still waiting for the money but if it ever gets here I will send it back ... ...

A big dummy load at the base of a vertical.
What is new about that?

I would think a tuner like the AH-3 mounted at the base of a vertical work much
better.

Re: WHO ARE THE DEALERS ??

I for one would much rather buy used radio equipment from a "Frequent Seller" or what you call a "Dealer". Personally ... as a frequent buyer of used ham gear ... I want to see a lot of sellers as that gives me more to choose from and keeps the price down. Also dont forget that the more deals a pers...

Re: NC 300 Power Supply

I have an early NC 300 with the choke in the PS . It has been heavily modified ie solid-stated and OB2 removed . I want to return it to its original configuration . I need a schematic of an early model with the choke. I have the schematic off the BAMA mirror with the 330 ohm resistor . It really do...

In the last two weeks I have emailed over 15 people about items they are advertising, In all but one case The item had already been sold and in that case I was sold a non functioning item by W9DVM, It seems to me that people that advertise should have the common decency to mark the ads sold so that...

Yeah, and we dont 'brew' equipment we 'construct' it. And what is with this 'HAM' radio thing .... do we raise swine? Enough with the '...

Spelling ??? Your BIG gripe is spelling? Go check out the CW operators sometime. (Ya do use the stuff you buy and sell here don't ya?) CW ain't got no spell checker so it is OK to take short cuts there. You can always spot a newbie on a computer keyboard cause ALL the words are spelled out let...

What is with the double posting of items?

Why do I see so many HF amps for sale posted in the HF radio classification? They are also posted in the HF amplifier section so the posters do know that there is a PROPER classification for those items. Are they afraid someone looking for an HF amplifier will not look there for one? How about keepi...

Take your MO stub to the post office and cancel the money order.
That will either get you a refund or the information that it has been cashed in.

Re: Here comes one....

It is true fellas, a mono band reciever is much more sensitive than a multi band radio. Compare the cheapest "CB" radio along side your new FT-2000 or IC-7800 on an A/B switch and you will see the el cheapo "toy" radio has a better reciever on 10 or 11 meters. No brag here ... that is just the way i...

Used FT-2000

Why is it that the Yeasu FT-2000 is about the only current production radio being offered for sale as used at hamfests.
I have seen several of them sitting the table but no currently produced Kenwood or Icom radios.
Are they really that bad?
