To N4ATS, sir, if you look at my original post, my comment was: "The end of the world? No but.....I was basically stating that no, I guess it isn't that important but this is supposed to be a ham radio related site. As for cb, I owned cb's back in the early 70's into the early 80's. It was a great t...

What's with the 11 meter equipment?

It seems like there has been quite a bit of cb radio equipment for sale on this site. 10/11 meter radios, you know the ones. Even being advertised with illegal amplifiers, without a license at that. End of the world? No but I would hope that this stuff wouldn't make it to this site. Oh well, just on...

Good points. I always push insurance when I sell something. Also, knowing how parcels are treated during transit, I always error on the side of caution when it comes to packing material. I use styrofoam peanuts, and bubble-wrap, along with double-boxing if needed. I have seen some shoddy packaging j...

N4ATS: Your example is a good one, and the refund was an extra effort on your part. There are obviously exceptions. I see radios that aren't even that old with the same conditions. Some just seem to take the easy way out. I realize that people that agree to these terms know what might happen but man...

Back your product.

I have seen way to many ads from hams, that claim that their item works, only to end their sentence with, "due to age, sold as is", or something similar. If you claim that the radio that you are selling works, then you should stand by your comment. It is a cop-out to use the standard lame excuses, i...

Ok on the, "gut feeling". Personally, I always make sure I call the individual on the telephone, on my dime. I am pretty good at detecting a con artist. I haven't had to many bad dealings but one bad deal that I made, was swapping of equipment. I put an ad here to swap dual-band mobiles. Well, I nev...

This sounds like the baggage handling department at the airport. I bought a new Samsonite suitcase, and when I got my suitcase back, gouges a quarter inch deep. Well, that's for another forum. I have had good luck with both UPS and USPS Priority. I guess it depends on the driver. I do think that pac...

Why would anyone still want to deal with this young lad, after all that has been presented?? If someone still get taken, one can't feel sorry for that person.

TO KK7AZ: I am not sure what your problem is. If you want to look like an ignorant fool, I guess that is up to you. Some might think otherwise. If you take offense to my intentions, then you have the problem, and need to chill. It just makes for easier reading when someone takes the time to spell co...

Let's learn to spell correctly.

I addressed this issue before but I guess it is time for another wake-up call. It only takes a few minutes to check our spelling when answering an ad, or commenting in a forum. Many browsers have spell checkers built into the program. Let's take a little pride in how we represent our hobby. How can ...

Danny, nobody is claiming to be perfect. It does not take rocket science for one to be able to pick up a dictionary if they aren't sure how to spell something. Take this as a positive post that it is meant to be, instead of taking offense to it. Life is short, be happy. :o)

Yes, I have to admit that some of them make me chuckle but at the same time, I feel bad if they are honestly trying. I did find this online dictionary that might be helpful. You just type in the word as you think it is spelled, and it will give you a list of words that it thinks you are trying to s...

This will not be the most important post this site has ever seen but I think one that should be mentioned. When someone posts an ad here on QTH, or any other site for that matter, spelling speaks volumes. It only takes a minute to look over our ads for spelling mistakes. When in doubt, check the di...

Mis-represented FT-920

First off, many flags went up when I read the original ad. I would never buy anything where it was just tested for receive with a piece of wire. And can't check the transmit? A red flag should have gone off there. Pay $800.00 for a item that is "as is", tells me something also. I don't understand h...

KC0KBP... Bob, I understand your concern. Most honest hams would not operate business in this manner. This guy is making it look like he will keep your Alinco if things don't go his way. I hope this is not the case. His e-mail to you was plain ignorant at best. Something just doesn't feel right here...
