Non Ham Dealers

Ah, I am not surprised I heard from this guy. The last emails went on forever until I blocked him. Bottom line, This is a free country yet and I ONLY spend my money with Licensed hams and Licensed Ham Radio Dealers. Yes it is my choice and that is what I do. It is too risky dealing with the non ham ...

Non Hams and ripoffs

Just my opinion but since most of the scams and ripoffs involve a non ham. Why not limit the board to licensed hams only? A verified QRZ name and call could be checked before allowing "membrship" Just a thought. So you non ham dealers, hold the flames, I don't pay any attention to you anyway and i j...

R & L

I have bought a few things from them over the years and they were never "top notch" in my book. Their used gear is about the same as most fest or Ebay stuff, ok but not real great. I have returned a couple of new items to them that were not new. Will I buy there again? Not likely. :D :D :D  :w...

WA4TOL Good buyer

Gary is a very good customer. I sold him a freq counter and when it got to him it had problems. He was very understanding and I shipped him another that I had and he was very pleased.

Nice guy to deal with.

Ripoffs of late.

Well, I just felt inspired to post another note. These days I am really getting lerry of some deals. I recently had a non ham shirt tail dealer offer me a piece of Icom gear that I needed for my collection and I was most interested. We talked on the phone a few times and the deal sounded good, maybe...

Tom, you were probably the one and only. I have to wonder however, you would not be a person to stick it to, with the Hamster rating pages. Hi Hi

Sound to good to be true? If so run don't walk away

I attended a large Hamfest Sat. and I have been looking for a mint Ten-Tec Jupiter and there was one there but not quite what I was looking for. I had a lot of my station pictures laying out on my table and I noticed one was missing when I left, no big deal. They had my rubber stamp imprint on the b...

Damaged rig

Scott, I agree. The responsibility for the equipment lies with the seller or if insured with the carrier. In the event of damage, the buyer should have notified the seller at once so a claim could be filed and the item inspected by the carrier. If much more than a day passes, it is a lost cause with...

Hi Fi Audio

Well, the guys that like the Hi Fi audio had better never get or talk to someone running Ten Tec gear as they would go nuts at the sound. Ten Tec designs their gear to sound very high pitched. Why ? So it can be heard above and beyond the pile ups. When the guys running the great audio just sound li...

Bill is right about the truck stops. A lot of repeators have been shut down because of the numbers of 10 4 good buddy types getting and using ham equipment. Well, my first wife hated ham radio with a passion. My now wife tolerates it nicely. She collects glass stuff and displays it, I collect radios and display them. The Collins grading system should not be used on modern day equipment, it was intended for use on Collins equipment only.

The Collins standard leaves too much up to the person rating. Several people tried to apply it to Drake gear and it turned out to be a joke... :x

Some people have asked me about my comment in another posting about some people cleaning Collins gear with Simple Green.
