Container

Hay Chris, got the container today. Thanks a lot. Most of the stuff is already on Ebay and selling like hotcakes.

I said the stuff was from down under, hope you don't mind.

Ebay Ads

What really kills me is the phrase. This item is from the estate of a long time ham radio person and he had only the best. The item looks new but is untested as I know very little about this type of item and would not be qualified to evaluate. If you are into ham radio this is a must, don't let it s...

Check and MO scams

I received this from my bank today. Seems like the problem is widespread. Please be extremely cautious when purchasing and selling items online. If a check (including personal checks, business checks, cashiers checks or money orders) is sent to you for more than the amount of the item you are sellin...

Auctions

To each his own. As a collector I just will not buy the "pig in a poke" gear that is hawked on Ebay. The sellers have no clue as to what "collectors quality" means... I advise a few trusted dealers of my want list and they always seem to come up with the items for me. Do they get some of them from E...

Web Address

It keeps changing. Look up the AES web page, go to Mfg links and it will be there. It is the only place I have been able to find it and be correct for any length of time

What Did I Mean By "CB Type"

Several people have emailed me in private as to what I meant by a "CB Type" Well, since I do not wish to offend those that UNLIKE ME, have CB roots, I will be somewhat cooth. The guy in question was as follows. Rusted Green 70's Ford pick up truck, 2, 108 " CB whips, gun rack and gun in rear window....

I am still laughing

I had a big garage sale today so I put out a few old receivers and some old mikes. Not to really make anything but rather to just get some room.. I had this one old beat up D 104 that I was almost ashamed to put out but I thought someone might want it for a buck. It had been really trashed. Well rig...

Mikes

The HM 10 mikes work fine on Icom. It is the goldlines that I am talking about . They are problems on Icom rigs.....

If anyone needs a brand new sealed in the plastic Heil CC1 cable for Icom. I have one left and that is the last of the Heil stuff, thank goodness..

Icom

I just got another new Icom 746 PRO and a Goldline came with it. The goldline worked good with good output for about 1 hour and fell off to zerl. The SM 20 is fine. My advice is even if you get a free Goldline, don't even open it, sell it to a Kenwood user at once for 50.00 and get a mike that will ...

Who is responsible

Having sold many items and shipped them over the last 5 years or so, I have the following comments. I recently went thru some very sticky situations involving legal action in selling items and shipping them. This was very costly to me and far exceded the value of what was sold. Based on my recent ex...

Mike for Icom

I just sold my last Goldline mike. I have found that several weeks of use they tend to drop off on output when used with the Icom's to the point that there is no longer any mike gain control left. I have went to all Icom SM 20 mikes with zero problems... Several people have told me that is is just w...

Good Trader

Are we talking about the same K7FF aka, hambone, Dogbone, Derek, ham, etc?

Sure doesn't sound like the one that ripped me and several other people.

Per the QRZ database K7FF is NOT named Derek. ??????????????

K7FF - He is back

Well, he is back on QTH with ads again. DereK, K7FF or whatever his name or call is. If you play with fire, someone is bound to get burned. Me, I don't play with fire.. You all can guess whose nickname is "fire", it is sure not mine... It is DereK? Who knows???? I just hear that "fire" is real popul...

Dealer No No List

Well, I am sure I am on a lot of them because I do not pay good money for used or return crap. Pure and simple. It's funny though, when I call about an item, I never ask the price up front because to me it really does not matter that much. What I want is a fractory sealed item sent to me via overnig...

R & L

I have seen several things on the Icom reflector about R & L and others selling demo and "repack" rigs. In short, used, broken, scratched, returned, shipping damage, etc. Tell R & L and others that it must be in a factory sealed box or you will send it back to them at once COD. Check how many will h...

Return Policies

I have been looking for a rare piece of Icom gear and a large dealer had one used. Since I have been looking for one for a long time, I called them. They said it was mint. So I asked the following questions. Does it have the orig box? Does it have the orig manual Does it have the cables with it All ...

K5YY Good Guy

Good guy alert for San Hudson, K5YY. Since my health problems, I am no longer able to do antenna or tower work and San came over today and replaced my bad rotor with a new Yaesu rotor for me. It was quite a job as the rotor plate had to be taken down and redrilled to fit the new rotor. It was also a...

Rang a Belll With Me

When I saw this, I did not recognize the call as being the same but the name sure was. It was about 5 or 6 years ago and this guy sent me a bank check for some Drake parts that I could not cash. When all was said and done, I had spent about 170.00 trying to collect on a 50.00 check. A lesson well le...

Dealer Honesty

As a collector, being first to open the box is a must in my book. Would I pay a higher price to get a "factory fresh" untouched rig, you bet!! Same on a used rig, if it has the orig box and packing, it is worth much more to me. If the dealers would just be honest and say, look it has been out of the...

Dealer No No List

That is exactly one of the reasons that R&L is on my do not buy from list. Several years ago I visited their store in Ohio while in the area. They were not friendly at all and did not seem to have time to wait on store customers, they were too busy making phone deals.. When I asked if they had a new...

Dealer Buying

The age old saga of selling out of box goods has been around a long time but it seems to be getting worse lately. For that very reason there are only 2 dealers that I use. They know my rules right up front. If it is an opened item ( tape seal broken) and sold to me as new they get it right back and ...

As our local Son Gomer Pile once said Golee Gee, I for the life of me cannot see why this CB shop guy is on my case about the flag and everything else. If he would bother to look on the last page of my web site, he would see Old Glory flying high. In case you have forgot that is the USA Flag not the...
