Disagree but whatever works for you. Photographs (detailed ones) combined with using paypal can save the day if you have to dispute a transaction for a piece of equipment that arrives in a different condition than what was represented. Anyway, I am not going to comment further. Just trying to assist...

I have had a paypal account for years and never lost a cent. Of course, I don't keep funds in there. They are transferred out as soon as they are received. Far more protection than if you send a check or wire transfer. To each their own.

Sorry about your experience. I follow 2 simple rules in my purchases. Insist on photographs and only use paypal. If the seller does not wish to comply with these rules I walk away.

I saw the same thing and posted on the ad section so that all could quickly see. The post was removed from there. No problem. If is saved someone from being scammed happy to do it. As always check the email address for the ham listing the equipment on qrz.com against the email address the ad directs...

I have spoken with Marc in the past and while I have never purchased any gear from him, it is pretty clear that he operates a retail store that he sells equipment through. I have never seen him try to hide that and in fact he advertises on this site with full disclosure.

Paypal is preferred but a money order if you can check the ham out. Insist on a callsign and email that ham via his qrz.com email addres...
