From what I have read, we are not at the minimum yet. Maybe next year, but it will be at least 2-3 years to see any improvement.

Dual PS

Not recommended. You cannot control the internals of the supplies unless they have remote +/- Sense lines. Even diode drops will be subject to thermal variations. You would need to mount and isolate diodes, but this ... unless you can control the outputs to within millivolts of each other, make it v...

Free space means just that .... hanging in free space.

Diameter difference you not should be of no impact.

Slight larger diameter will give better bandwidth....

I personally do not like the idea of the 3 wires, but if it appears to be factory done, then so be it. Are you certain there are just 3 wires and not another that was snipped off so far back you cannot see it? Are both wires inside the shield? The cable sounds like an older cable from ... maybe off ...

Balderdash...!

WE don't need no stinkin' HIFI SSB crap ... occupies Bandwidth that is not necessary. Communications audio does not need to extend beyone 3kc period.

Since it is a CW Memory Keyer, what other mode would one want...as it says ... SEND CW..! There are no connections to a receiver. Only connections to a transmitter or input from a keyboard to generate a message ... thus memory. As it says, it is a CW Memory Keyer...that is it drives the transmitter....

You really only need to post once. From the symptoms, suggest a different power supply. It would appear the one you have is not adequate to supply the current needed and it is trying to shut down. That is why the display goes blank.

Not familiar with the TR-7, but you could try sending an email to Jeff, WA8SAJ, who is one of the regulars on the Drake HF net.

Another would be WB4HFN. He has a web site for drake as does K4ICL. WB4HFN is another of the regulars on the Drake HF net.

I don't believe the TR-7 will transmit VLF, however, it will on 27Mc. That power is illegal on 11M, period.

Many people receive VLF, whether for the low power airport beacons and/or CW practice. What CW practice do you find on 11M. Not a bad VLF receiver either.
