Wonder whar ever happened to my SASEs?

I mail QSLs out to most hams I share QSOs with, and always include a SASE. I do this to show that their QSL card is important to me and that I am willing to bear the costs of mailing both ways. About 15-20% of the hams are kind enough to use the envelopes to send their own cards back. I am just wond...

K4LJP Lee Good Seller

Lee's QSL jokingly refers to him as the "Local Junk Peddler", but he doesn't sell junk. The antenna tuner I bought from him was first-rate and looked new. He included a manual and jumper cable. The tuner was well-packed and follow-up was very good. And the price was very reasonable. I would certainl...

Darrell KA7BTV Great Seller

Impedence meter from Darrell was a great bargain, and he even refunded part of the purchase price because he was dissatisfied with the looks of the cable he made (looks fine to me!) Meter itself looks great too. Prompt shipment and good follow-up. Wish I could get more deals like this.

Just Sayin'

I've made a lot of great deals on QTH, but recently I've been spending more time checking my e-mail than I am on the air. Made a couple of offers over the last week. No response from he sellers even after follow up. No yes, no, or go to h###. It's OK if another ham beats me to the punch, but I'd rea...

Moving and can't test my new PS yet, but it arrived douuble-boxed including the factory box and looks very, very good. Also the only way I could have gotten quicker delivery is if I bought it face-to-face at a hamfest! I will follow-up once I get myshack put together and advise how it works. Not exp...

Good to Deal with Matt W1MBB

Bought antenna from Matt. Item as described, good price, prompt shipment. I think shipping may have been a few bucks more than we expected, but Mark made up the difference. OK ham to deal with. Wouldn't hesitate to do business with him in the future.

Craftsman 82400 Multitester Manual?

So I bought this multitester at a flea market on Sunday and can't lay my paws on a manual. Sears uses "www.managemylife.com) but zero results on line or speaking to a real person there for 30 min. Anyone have a copy or other suggestions? Sure would appreciate it. . .

ICOM 2200H Program Receive Freqs?

Trying to program some low freqs. (118.400) into my 2200. The receive range is supposed to be 118.00 to 174 or 176 MHz. When programming, the first digit is always 1 (as it should be). But when I turn the dial to set the second digit, that digit toggles between 2-3-4-5-6; in other words, no way to p...

K2DER Hugo--An Honorable Man

Just completed a purchase from Hugo K2DER. Good item, good price, prompt shipment with tracking too. I later found out that after he received my offer he received a CASH offer from a ham in his home town. It would have been easy to tell me I was too late and accept the second offer instead, but that...

Long Mobile Antenna Cables

New to the hobby. Unfortunately, sometimes I have to drive to areas infested with assorted cretins who delight in bending-breaking-stealing mobile antennas or "just" damaging the cables out of sheer cussedness. Magnetic mount seems the way to go but the cables are much longer than I need. Question--...

Old/New(?) Packing Method

A non-ham buddy taught me to double-wrap the item in plastic wrap and be sure it is sealed up GOOD. Then on the bottom of the packing box, apply a layer of that insulating foam you can get at your hardware or building supply store. Lay the wrapped item on that and fill in the voids with more insulat...

Cigarette lighter cable and polarity

I'm confused (just ask anyone who knows me). I have a Kenwood HT which I like very much. It has a jack for use with the cigarette lighter cable. The center pin of the jack is marked + and the outer ring -. This is the same as the cable I have. So far OK. Makes sense. So then I bought a new (1500mAh)...
